1. Purpose and Scope

To uphold the integrity, originality, and academic quality of published research, ELT Today implements a stringent similarity and AI-generated content screening policy. This policy applies to all submissions, including original articles, reviews, case studies, and any other content intended for publication. It aims to detect and prevent plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, and ensure transparency when AI tools are used in the research or writing process.

2. Similarity Screening

• All submitted manuscripts undergo similarity screening using reliable plagiarism detection software to identify copied, improperly cited, or self-plagiarized content.
• Manuscripts with a similarity score exceeding 25% (excluding references, direct quotes, and commonly used phrases) will be flagged for further review. In cases where plagiarism is detected, authors may be asked to revise and properly cite their work or may face rejection based on the severity of the infraction.
• Any form of plagiarism, including verbatim copying without citation, inadequate paraphrasing, and self-plagiarism without disclosure, is strictly prohibited.

3. AI-Generated Content Screening

• Authors are required to disclose the use of AI tools (such as language generation or data analysis tools) in the research or manuscript preparation process. Acknowledgment of AI assistance must be included in the methodology or acknowledgment sections of the paper.
• AI detection software will be used to screen for unreported or excessive reliance on AI-generated content. The journal does not accept manuscripts primarily generated by AI; human-authored research is required, with AI tools permitted only as supporting resources.
• Any detected, undisclosed AI-generated content may result in requests for revisions, additional author disclosures, or rejection of the manuscript.

4. Review Process and Consequences

• Manuscripts flagged for potential plagiarism or undisclosed AI-generated content will be reviewed by the editorial team. If necessary, the manuscript will be returned to the authors with revision instructions or, in severe cases, be rejected.
• Instances of verified misconduct will result in immediate rejection, with cases documented and shared within the academic community where appropriate.

Author Guidelines

The author must submit the manuscript online by first registering as an author on the website https://aicpublisher.com/journals/index.php/elttoday/index. For every submitted article, the author is obliged to follow the terms and conditions in accordance with the Style Guide of ELT Today

General Structure of the Article

• The text submitted by the author is an original scientific paper, has never been published, and is not being submitted for publication in other media or journals.
• The text proposed may be the results of a study (field), conceptual ideas, studies, application of theories, and criticism in social sciences, humanities, and technology.
• The manuscript must be written in English. The text should be formatted in Arial font, size 12, with single spacing and a one-column layout.
• The manuscript should include an abstract of 200 to 250 words, followed by three to five keywords relevant to the article.
• The length of the manuscript should be between 4000 and 8000 words, including the abstract, tables, figures, and references.
• The document should be formatted on A4-sized paper with the following margins: top 1.4 inches, bottom 1.5 inches, right 1.4 inches, and left 1.4 inches.
• The ELT Today manuscript template can be downloaded from Manuscript Template.
• The manuscript must follow a structured format including:
  • Introduction: Problem identification, literature review, research objectives, and research benefits.
  • Method: Description of the research approach, population or sample, instruments, and data analysis.
  • Findings and Discussions: Research results and analysis, which can be presented in sub-sections.
  • Conclusion: Summary of findings, conclusions drawn, and potential future research.
  • References: Cited sources formatted according to APA 7th edition.
• Authors must use the Mendeley application to manage and include references in the manuscript.
• The article must be free from plagiarism, falsification, and fabrication of data.

Title

The title should summarize the main idea of the manuscript and must not exceed 15 words.

Author Details

The manuscript must include the full name of the author (without academic degrees), affiliation, and email address.

Abstract

The abstract should clearly outline the background of the problem, objectives, theories and methods, key findings, novelty of the study, and main conclusions.

Introduction

Avoid an extensive literature review or a detailed description of findings. State the goals of the study and provide a sufficient background, explicitly highlighting the gap in the literature that the research aims to fill.

Method

This section describes the research approach, population or sample, study participants, instruments used, and data analysis procedures.

Findings and Discussions

Present the research findings clearly using graphs and tables as needed. Provide a concise summary of key findings without repeating information already presented in tables or figures.

Conclusion

The conclusion should summarize the research results and discuss their implications. It should connect the study's findings with the research objectives stated in the introduction.

References

All references must follow the APA 7th edition format. Ensure that all sources cited in the text appear in the reference list and that all references listed are cited in the text.

Submission Preparation

• The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under review by another journal.
• The submission file must be in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document format.
• The manuscript must follow the ELT Today template.
• The manuscript must include at least 25 references.
• All references must be formatted in APA 7th edition style and generated using a reference management tool (Mendeley or EndNote).

Article Process

Publication Fee

The publication fee for articles accepted for publication in ELT Today is IDR 500,000 (USD 25). This fee is payable upon acceptance of the article for publication. It covers administrative costs associated with reviewing, editing, and indexing of your article.

Waiver Policy

We understand that some authors may face financial constraints. To support the global dissemination of research, the journal offers a waiver policy. Authors who are unable to pay the publication fee due to financial hardship may apply for a full or partial waiver. Withdrawal Policy

This policy outlines the conditions and procedures for withdrawing a submitted or published manuscript in ELT Today. Withdrawal requests must meet specific criteria and follow the steps set by the editorial board.

1. Introduction

This policy regulates the procedures and conditions related to the withdrawal of manuscripts submitted or published in ELT Today Journal. Manuscript withdrawal can only be done under specific circumstances and must follow the procedures set by the editorial board.

2. Reasons for Manuscript Withdrawal

Authors may submit a withdrawal request for the following reasons:

• Significant errors in the manuscript that cannot be corrected.
• Simultaneous submission of the manuscript to multiple journals (redundant publication).
• Indications of plagiarism or violations of publication ethics.
• Request from an institution or relevant authority due to academic misconduct.
• Technical errors in the publication process that cannot be rectified.

3. Manuscript Withdrawal Procedure

• Authors must submit a written request to the editorial board, clearly stating the reason and providing supporting evidence if necessary.
• The editorial board will review the request within a maximum of 14 working days.
• If the request is approved before the peer review process, no penalty will be imposed.
• If the request is approved after the manuscript has been accepted or published, the journal reserves the right to impose sanctions, including blacklisting the author.
